    Get PDF
Wireless mobile macrodiversity (MaD) radio system with switch and stay (SSC) receiver and two microdiversity (MiD) selection combining (SC) branches operating over Gamma shadowed Kappa-Mu (k-μ) multipath fading environment is considered. Novel, one-folded integral expression for average level crossing rate (LCR) of MaD SSC receiver output signal envelope is obtained. Numerical results of the proposed model are presented and discussed in relation to the system model parameters

On the availability versus transmitted power of wireless sensor networks in Rayleigh multipath fading environments

    Get PDF
This paper presents simulation results for full availability of a wireless sensor network depending on the RF output power of the network nodes in Rayleigh multipath fading environment. Outage probability, relating to the situation in which any one of the sensors is unavailable, is computed by means of numerical simulation, and discussed. The results indicate that the trade-of between the outage probability and the energy efficiency of the network nodes should be sought, resulting in lowest required output power for the highest tolerable outage threshold

STATISTICS OF SIGNAL TO INTERFERENCE RATIO PROCESS AT OUTPUT OF MOBILE-TO-MOBILE RAYLEIGH FADING CHANNEL IN THE PRESENCE OF COCHANNEL INTERFERENCE

    Get PDF
Dual-hop cooperative communications in interference-limited Rayleigh fading channel will be investigated in this paper. The paper considers the first- and second-order statistics of the signal to interference ratio process at the input of the destination mobile station. The exact closed-form expressions for the first-order statistical measures, the probability density function and cumulative distribution function, will be derived. We will also derive approximate closed form expressions for the second-order statistics, the level crossing rate and the average fade duration. The obtained theoretical results will be verified by the Monte-Carlo simulations

LEVEL CROSSING RATE OF MACRODIVERSITY SYSTEM OVER COMPOSITE GAMMA SHADOWED ALPHA-KAPPA-MU MULTIPATH FADING CHANNEL

In this paper macrodiversity system with macrodiversity selection combining (SC) receiver and two microdiversity SC receivers operating over composite shadowed multipath fading environment is considered. Received signal is subjected simultaneously to gamma long term fading and α-κ-μ short term fading resulting in system performance degradation. Macrodiversity SC receiver reduces gamma long term fading effects and microdiversity SC receivers mitigate α-κ-μ short term fading effects. Analitical expression for average level crossing rate of proposed wireless mobile system represented as an infinite series is evaluated. Mathematical and numerical analysis are shown influences of gamma fading severity, α-κ-μ multipath fading severity, and Rician factor on average level crossing rate

OUTAGE PERFORMANCE OF MULTI-BRANCH SC RECEIVER OVER CORRELATED WEIBULL CHANNEL IN THE PRESENCE OF CORRELATED RAYLEIGH CO-CHANNEL INTERFERENCE

The aim of this paper is to consider the performance of wireless communication system with signal-to interference ratio (SIR) based multiple-branches selection combining (SC) receiver. The proposed system operates over correlated Weibull multipath environment, in the presence of co-channel interference (CCI) subjected to correlated Rayleigh multipath fading. SC diversity technique is used to reduce the effects of multipath fading and CCI on the system performance. Infinite-series expression for outage probability (OP) in terms of Meijer G functions is derived. Further, numerical results are graphically presented and discussed to show the influence of fading parameters on outage probability

SC macrodiversity system with dual EGC microdiversity receivers operating over shadowed multipath fading environment is considered. Received signal experiences correlated Gamma long term fading and Rician short term fading. SC macrodiversity receiver reduces Gamma large scale fading effects, while EGC microdiversity receivers mitigate short term fading effects on system performance. Closed form expressions for arbitrary order output moments of macrodiversity structure output signal is evaluated. Numerical results, obtained for arbitrary order output moments are presented graphically to show Gamma long term fading severity effect, correlation coefficient effects and Rician factor effect
